OK Advice Learning Terms
Terms and Course Access
These terms apply to the use of OK Advice Learning and the OK Advice Learning platform, operated from New Zealand by Outsourced Key Advice Limited, trading as OK Advice Ltd.
By creating an account, enrolling in a course, accessing course material, or purchasing course access through OK Advice Learning, you agree to these terms.
These terms are intended to explain how course access, platform use, payments, refunds, service availability, and learner responsibilities are managed. They do not limit any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.
1. Governing law and international learners
OK Advice Learning is operated from New Zealand. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
Learners outside New Zealand are responsible for ensuring that online training purchased through OK Advice Learning is suitable for their own location, workplace, licensing environment, professional requirements, and any local rules that may apply to them.
We manage refunds, remedies, and course access issues in line with our obligations as a New Zealand-based provider. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any consumer rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
2. Training purpose
OK Advice Learning provides professional training for locksmithing-related knowledge, workflows, and system-control principles.
Course content is provided for training and professional development purposes. It is not a substitute for product-specific manufacturer instructions, local legal requirements, workplace procedures, licensing requirements, authorisation requirements, or professional judgement.
Learners are responsible for confirming the rules, specifications, authorisation requirements, and safety requirements that apply to the actual products, systems, workplaces, and jurisdictions they are dealing with.
3. Accounts, access, and organisation-managed enrolments
Learners may be required to create an account on the OK Advice Learning platform before accessing course material. Account details must be accurate and must not be shared with other people.
Course access is provided to the individual learner unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. Each learner must normally have their own account so that progress, quiz attempts, completion records, and certificates can be recorded accurately.
Businesses, employers, schools, training providers, or other organisations may purchase, arrange, or manage access for one or more learners. Each learner should still use their own login. A business account, invoice contact, or administrator contact does not normally replace individual learner accounts.
Where a learner’s enrolment is arranged, paid for, or managed by a business, employer, school, training provider, or other organisation, the training service is provided as part of that organisation’s training arrangement. In that situation, OK Advice Learning may provide that organisation with relevant information about the learner’s enrolment, course access, progress, participation, assessment outcomes, grades, completion status, and certificate issue.
This reporting may be used to confirm whether the learner has accessed the course, participated in required activities, passed or failed assessments, completed the course, or received a certificate.
Where a learner purchases course access individually, OK Advice Learning will not provide learner records, grades, assessment results, or completion details to an employer or other third party unless the learner has requested or authorised that disclosure, or unless disclosure is otherwise legally permitted or required.
Businesses wishing to enrol multiple learners may contact us to arrange invoicing, account setup, group enrolment, or reporting arrangements where appropriate.
We may suspend or remove access if an account is misused, shared, used to interfere with the OK Advice Learning platform, used to access material without permission, or used in a way that breaches these terms.
4. Course access period
Some courses may be provided with access for a fixed period. The access period, if applicable, will be shown on the course information page, enrolment information, invoice, or purchase information before enrolment or payment.
Once the access period ends, the learner may no longer be able to view the course material, quizzes, activities, completion records, or downloadable resources unless extended access has been arranged.
We may extend access at our discretion where there has been a significant platform issue, administrative error, illness, exceptional circumstance, or other reasonable cause.
5. Payments, pricing, and tax
Course prices, where applicable, will be displayed before purchase. Prices may change from time to time.
Access to paid course material is normally provided only after payment has been received or after another approved enrolment arrangement has been confirmed.
For New Zealand customers, GST will be charged where required under New Zealand tax law. For overseas customers, GST may be charged at 0% where the supply qualifies as an exported service and there is sufficient evidence to confirm that the customer is outside New Zealand.
Where tax, GST, or other charges are shown during purchase or invoicing, those amounts form part of the purchase information for that transaction.
6. Refunds and cancellations
We do not normally provide refunds for change-of-mind purchases once course access has been provided, especially where a learner has already accessed course material.
However, this does not limit any rights a learner may have under applicable consumer law. In New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act sets minimum guarantees for products and services sold by businesses trading in New Zealand and may provide remedies where those guarantees are not met.
If you believe there is a problem with a course purchase, course access, or the service provided by OK Advice Learning, please contact us as soon as possible so we can review the issue and determine an appropriate remedy.
Depending on the circumstances, an appropriate remedy may include fixing an access issue, extending course access, providing replacement access, or providing a refund where required or appropriate.
7. Platform availability
We aim to keep the OK Advice Learning platform available at all reasonable times. However, access may occasionally be interrupted by maintenance, updates, internet outages, hosting issues, software faults, security work, equipment failure, power issues, or events outside our reasonable control.
We do not currently provide a guaranteed uptime service level. If a significant platform outage prevents a learner from accessing paid course material for an extended period, we may extend the learner’s course access or provide another appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances.
Planned maintenance may occur from time to time. Where practical, we will try to schedule maintenance to reduce disruption.
8. Course content and changes
Course content may be updated, corrected, expanded, reorganised, or withdrawn from time to time.
We aim to provide accurate and useful training material, but locksmithing practice, products, software, regulations, standards, terminology, and manufacturer requirements may change over time.
Learners should always verify current requirements before applying course concepts to real-world work.
9. Acceptable use
Learners must not misuse the OK Advice Learning platform, attempt to bypass access controls, interfere with other users, upload harmful content, copy course material for unauthorised distribution, scrape or systematically extract content, share login details, or use the platform for unlawful purposes.
We may suspend or remove access where we reasonably believe the OK Advice Learning platform, course material, other users, or our business interests are being placed at risk.
10. Intellectual property
Course material, text, diagrams, quizzes, examples, page layouts, downloadable resources, and other training content remain the intellectual property of OK Advice Learning, Outsourced Key Advice Limited, or the relevant rights holder unless clearly stated otherwise.
Learners may use course material for their own personal study and professional development. Course material must not be copied, republished, resold, shared, uploaded elsewhere, or used to create competing training material without written permission.
Any third-party names, brands, products, diagrams, videos, or references remain the property of their respective owners and are used only where relevant for teaching, attribution, commentary, or practical context.
11. Privacy and learner information
We collect and use personal information for purposes related to operating OK Advice Learning and the OK Advice Learning platform, managing accounts, providing course access, recording progress, communicating with learners, issuing completion records, processing payments or invoices, and meeting business or legal requirements.
New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020 provides rules for how organisations collect, store, use, and share personal information. It also includes rights for individuals to access personal information held about them and to request correction where appropriate.
Where a business, employer, school, training provider, or other organisation arranges, pays for, or manages a learner’s enrolment, learner information may be used and disclosed for purposes reasonably connected with that training arrangement. This may include reporting enrolment status, course access, progress, participation, assessment outcomes, grades, completion status, and certificate issue to that organisation.
Where a learner enrols and pays individually, we will not provide learner records, grades, assessment results, or completion details to an employer or other third party unless the learner has requested or authorised that disclosure, or unless disclosure is otherwise legally permitted or required.
Our Privacy Policy should be read alongside these terms.
12. Certificates, completion records, and verification
Some courses may include quizzes, completion tracking, certificates, or other records of participation.
A certificate or completion record confirms that the learner has completed the relevant course requirements. It does not, by itself, certify trade competence, licensing status, legal authority, manufacturer authorisation, workplace approval, or permission to perform regulated work unless this is clearly stated in writing.
OK Advice Learning may retain training, assessment, and completion records for an extended period so that learners can access their training history, request certificate reissue, or verify previous course completion.
Where a learner’s course access was arranged, paid for, or managed by a business, employer, school, training provider, or other organisation, OK Advice Learning may confirm relevant completion, assessment, grade, and certificate information to that organisation as part of the training arrangement.
Where a learner purchased course access individually, OK Advice Learning will only confirm completion, assessment, grade, or certificate information to a third party where the learner has requested or authorised the disclosure, or where we are otherwise legally permitted or required to do so.
13. Limitation of liability
Course material is provided for training and professional development. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss arising from misuse of the material, failure to follow manufacturer requirements, incorrect application of course concepts, inadequate supervision, unauthorised work, or decisions made outside the scope of the training.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will be made available on the OK Advice Learning platform or website.
Where changes are significant and may affect current learners, we will take reasonable steps to communicate those changes.
